Number of Seats in Different Departments

There are a total of maximum 1000 seats for prospective students in the 4-yr undergraduate degree of the Faculties of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and the Urban and Regional Planning department of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning and the 5-yr undergraduate degree of the Department of Architecture.

A department-wise break-up of the total 1000 seats is given in the table below:

Reserved Seats for Tribal Candidates:

Out of the 1000 seats, a total of 4 seats that includes 3 seats in the departments of engineering faculties and the Department of Urban and Regional Planning of the Architecture Faculty and 1 seat in the Department of Architecture are allocated solely for the tribal candidates from the district of Chittagong Hill Tracts and other areas in Bangladesh.

The tribal applicants should provide the proof of their Bangladesh citizenship and their tribal status by submitting certificates from:

  1. Certificate from the Principal of the college they have graduated from.
  2. Certificate from the Chairman of the local Pourashava/Zilla Parishad/Union Parishad.
  3. Certificate from the Morol/Headman/Chief of the relevant tribe duly attested by the Thana Nirbahi Officer (TNO)/Deputy Commissioner (DC).
